Distressed Restructure and Turnaround
Restructuring and getting companies to the next stage of successful growth requires a holistic approach to the organizations challenges.  Restructuring and performance improvement is not just about finance.  Yes. it is true, if there is a short cash run way and we need to save you from hitting the mountain, then the first priority is to pull up, stop the bleeding, assess the burn, and manage the cash situation differently.  This includes vendor renegotiation, possibly bridge loans and sometimes the best option is Chapter 11. The bottom line is protect and manage the cash flow and mitigate risk. It is also critical to concurrently focus on the operational efficiencies, leadership, team and the top line sales and growth strategy and processes.  An assessment of the organization as a whole reveals opportunities that once improved along with shoring up the financials result in long term success for the company.

 

Crisis Management Our focus to change management is holistic and embraces all parts of a business.  Each department or business unit plays a role in the performance of the whole.  Often there is more than one opportunity for increased performance and efficiencies.  In addition to operational efficiencies or cash flow issues there is often a  cultural issue.   Addressing the culture of an organization in distress is critical and must be done in conjunction with finance, operation and sales.  ReEngineering Capitalism maintains that addressing culture is part of delivering a "Sustainable and Ethical turnaround."   At the end of the day, proposing a restructure or turnaround  without plans for long- term change across the business including the culture; will result in reoccurring distress or failure of the company because  processes for a sustainable restructure were not created.
